Call for Speakers

Speaker nominations are now closed

Thank you so much to everyone who nominated individuals and applied to speak at TEDxGlasgow 2018. We’ve been overwhelmed with awesome entries and it’s going to be tough to identify just 16-20 speakers from this amazing response. We look forward to bringing a hugely exciting lineup to you very soon.

We’ll be reviewing all the applications in the coming weeks with the hope of coming back to all applicants by the beginning of March. Thereafter, we hope to announce our full lineup to the public.

TED is a global platform for sharing remarkable ideas. TEDx events are the same as TED Conferences but at a local level. TEDxGlasgow 2018 is an independently organised TED event taking place on Friday, June 1st at the SEC Armadillo in Glasgow. TEDxGlasgow is one of the UK’s largest and most well-established TEDx events. From 2014 until 2016 we have doubled in size every year, welcoming internationally renowned speakers and partners, whilst achieving almost 9 million views of our talks online across the globe.

This year we will welcome an engaged audience of around 2,000 innovators, thinkers and doers. What all TED and TEDx events have in common is that they feature speakers with “ideas worth doing”. We give speakers the platform to deliver their big idea in an engaging fast-paced talk, whilst breaking free from the constraints of a more conventional conference.

We are on the lookout for standout speakers for this year’s event, so get applying or nominate someone who you think would light up our iconic red circle.

A little about our TEDx talks

Talks can be from 3 minutes up to a maximum of 18 minutes long. All successful speakers will be interviewed by our Speakers team. TEDxGlasgow 2018 Speakers will have a dedicated speaker’s coach who will work with you to ensure you are prepared pre, during and post the big day.

Deadline for applications was midday 2nd February 2018. We’ll be contacting successful speakers by March 2018 latest.

At this time, we’ll also be sharing the good news of our awesome TEDxGlasgow 2018 lineup with our community and the public, so keep your eyes peeled!
